B of E #10: decisive uncertainty

Frank Prem

should she go
yes of course
she has to go
but
does she want to
that's the issue

he'll be there
she's almost certain
and what to do then
if he is

it isn't that he's a bad man no
he's actually rather nice
gentle and witty
endearingly self-conscious
fun to be with

and he's interested
he's made sure she knows he's interested
without pushing hard
but leaving no doubt
leaving the next move to her

what to do

does she want this
she's tried before
it's always a disaster
sad endings
with hurt and heartbreak
and she is at a stage
where she could easily live without it
who needs that shit

well of course
she does
he does
everyone needs it
but is it worth it
when there is so much to risk
peace of mind that's taken years
out the window in a second

she has to make a choice soon
or he will feel disappointment
lose interest and move on
not the kind to hang around
where he isn't wanted
so she needs to send a message
one way or another

perhaps tonight

she will study him again
how he comes across
what impact he has on her
who he really is
what it is about him that makes her laugh
so readily
try to touch her own feelings
and needs
assess them and work it out
then do something
act

which outfit will look best
to send a message
of decisive uncertainty
