Weeping Away The World.

kevin browne

Weeping away the world all the while
Watching as people lay their life down
Floundering at the failing of unnoticed
Prays peace and understanding.

Raised up in the Kingdom of others glory
Shooting everyone along the way
Pull back another trigger and let loose
Where bullets fly against redemption.

Razor deep with a cut left cheek
Bleeding thorns as they were crowned
Crucifixions for the narrow-minded
Blinded by storms which followed.

Stuck in the rearview mirror of life
Heavy work emptying out the garbage
Trash the cash and become detached
Hold up your hands to the Lord.

It surely hurts when the sword swipes
Stand and fight with just your armoury
In the battlefields of more than plenty
Let our poppies reveal the stories.

And as heaven bleeds out the rich
Clouds are filled with memories gone
Where the only importance remaining
Is the love of life and needing more.

Good strong write Kevin and those last two lines are so true.

The spirit which oozed from each line of this powerful lament touches the core Kevin - the poem itself bleeds with compassion and has to be one of your best. Thank you for sharing the pain of those "unnoticed" yet who still grasp at the "love of life". Must have this among my favourites.

Thank you, Fay, it's a remark towards the battle we endure and essentially being able to overcome them. our skins get cut wherever we are through life so we must learn how to protect ourselves.
