A path that was familiar,
is now a stranger in my eyes,
I search for what was left of the forgotten past,
a shattered red string, a speeding light,
the red, then darkness,
then silence.
Silence that leaves the other in pain,
silence that leaves the other broken,
silence that leaves the other dead.
I'm searching for you now,
I don't know when,
or why,
but in this path I feel drawn to the memory of you,
it leads me down a road of feelings,
feelings only had with you,
it's hard not to cry as I see your face,
but I won't,
because I made a promise before you left that day,
that when we meet again,
I will cry out all my tears.

WELCOME FRIEND ~ WELCOME to MPS ~ On this site everyone is very SPECIAL ! Thanks for your first POEM a meditation on the "Loss of a Soul Mate" I am pleased you mentioned it was not autobiographical ! It happens and I have experienced the loss of Family & Friends but (thank GOD) never my Soul Mate ! If anything happened to ANGELA I would DIE too ~ so I can understand the territory you are exploring in verse. Musing on Death and reading Poems relating to Death is CATHARTIC because it does prepare us should it happen ! Thanks for caring & sharing ~ BRIAN (UK) ~ Please check my poems ~ thanks B.
Im very sorry. It sounds like you lost someone, and you will help a lot of people if you keep sharing your experiences, keep it up!!
