Death is just the beginning

Aa Harvey

Death is just the beginning.

A mother’s natural instinct, a sixth sense and premonitions.

Surely this can’t all just be a coincidence?

Surely this proves, there’s more than meets the eye?

Surely this proves, we had a past life?

Maybe nobody actually dies and floats away into the sky.

Maybe we’re all reincarnated, again and again;

Just as Buddha, would have us believe.

So if we did become, enlightened like him,

Surely then, that would mean,

We are cheating death, by knowing of reincarnation

And surely we shouldn’t fear our final destination.

For when we die, we shall come back alive;

But no-one is willing to believe this, in case it is a lie.

But we should have no fear of the afterlife;

For if it is final, then that shall just be the end of the line.

If Buddha was right and he did walk into the light,

Then death should not be feared, maybe it should be embraced.

For when we die, it’s only the end of this life.

Another chance, to try to become enlightened

And when we have learned, what we are meant to know;

Maybe then, we shall reach our Heaven.

    Good write Aa. I don't go along with Buddhism though.

    • Aa Harvey

      That is ok. I do not ask you to, or expect you to. It's just something I like, that is all.

      (This is what I understand of Buddhism etc. at this moment in my existence. I am forever learning more so I may be wrong, but this is my understanding from what I remember hearing, reading, seeing etc.)

      Buddha wanted to reach Heaven instead of his existence being repeated over and over again in this world...

      Nirvana = Freedom from the endless cycle of personal reincarnations, with their consequent suffering, as a result of the extinction of individual passion, hatred, and delusion.

      Karma = Action, seen as bringing upon oneself inevitable results, good or bad, either in this life or in a reincarnation.

      Enlightenment = Awakening = Knowledge = Liberation = Arising through ceasing of craving. = Heaven instead of reincarnation.

      This next quote is true as far as I am aware:
      “Radiate boundless love towards the entire world — above, below, and across — unhindered, without ill will, without enmity.” – The Buddha

      "This is fake, as far as I am aware:
      “What have you gained from Meditation?”
      “Nothing. However”, Buddha said, “let me tell you what I lost : Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Insecurity, Fear of Old Age and Death.”

      I am still learning but I like the Buddha quotes and stories I hear...

      Peace, love and empathy.

        Thanks Aa. I understand you are not forcing this on anyone. I suppose I don't believe in Nirvana, etc, myself.

        Oh no......... school all over again!!!!!

        • Aa Harvey

          Oh no...first love all over again. First Kiss all over again. First time meeting your soulmate all over again. First time you hear your favourite band...again. First time you watch Harry Potter etc. again...it's not all bad.

          "Well we got no class,
          And we got no principles,
          And we got no innocence,
          We can't even think of a word that rhymes!

          School's out for-ever!
          School's out for summer!
          School's out with fever!
          School's out completely."

          Alice Cooper - School's out

            My belief has ever been that the best is yet to come at the end of our journey on earth - a needed reminder to let go of fear - - thank you A.a,.
