Pain No One Wishes For

JillianJade

Splitting apart

Peeling into two.

Too many lies that I've grown up into.

Being ripped in half

A memory of the past.

But glass never breaks down the middle.

Broken pieces shattered on the floor

Be careful where you step or you'll get hurt more.

I'm torn down the middle because I can't chose.

I'd rather stay with me than live with you two

Separately.

-Divorce from a child's perspective

  • BRIAN & ANGELA

WELCOME JILLIAN~ Thanks for your first Poem ~ Elegantly penned but a very sad (and often too common) subject D-I-V-O-R-C-E and people often underestimate the effect on Children. A Male friend of mine told me his TEEN KIDS were old enough to understand ~ but I knew the School Nurse had them howling every day in the Medical Room ! I work in a College (my students are 17 to 30) and many of them break down when their Parents Divorce ~ I like your line "I'd rather stay with me ~ than live with you two separately" Thanks for sharing and caring ! My Parents have just celebrated their Ruby Wedding (40 Years) so I have not had the personal pain of divorce ~ and I am still single ! Every Blessing ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
