Catch & Release / Caged ... by Ivory

Ivory

Catch & Release

I’ve become a burden
A helpless child in your eyes
I’m not surprised
At how you despise
My very existence.
Forced to rely on you
Careful of what I say and do
Nothing you ever said was true.
Took me from my comfort zone
Constantly left alone
Freedom a distant memory
Told me you’d always take care of me
I’m not allowed to ask for what I need
Yet you continue to take from me
Trying to reach out
You refuse to hear me
If I’m such a weight upon your shoulders
Then the solution is simple
Release me.

 Caged

The heart
a cold cage
Confinement for dreadful memories
Wish I could erase them all

Strong emotive write. I do hope that the gate to that cage is opened very soon.
