If I stay I'll ruin you

FallenDreamer09

If I stay, I will ruin you, my darling.

I shout and Moan and cry all the time.

I've left happiness far behind.

You'll learn to be weak like me.

And so I have to leave you my baby,

I can't have you struggle, you see.

It'll only make you cry.

I cannot stand up tall;

I'm sorry my baby,

I can not be all yours...

it's hard to let you go,

but I can't let you see me fall...

it'll only make you cry.

If I stay, I'll ruin you.

I can't let you see me die.

I pray you get the Mother you deserve...

the mother I could never be.

I don't know if you'll want another, I'm sure life

will make it easier to see.

But if I stay,

It'll only make you cry.

I'm taking with me

all the silent memories

of the short time spent with you,

that makes me smile and feel so true.

I never thought I would feel this blue...

I've always loved you my baby, even before the

start.

For whatever it's worth,

just know I live somewhere hidden

In your heart.

You're made from me,

But I hope you don't remember Me; It'll only

make you cry.

I'm sorry I won't be there to see you grow...

or when you're no longer a little girl...

for your first kiss or a dance to a slow song.

I'll miss all the important days,

And it'll be all my fault!

I'm sorry my 'babap'

If I stay, I'll ruin you.

And it'll only make you cry.

  • Comment from author about the poem: From a mother to her baby... because she thinks her baby will be better of without her; all she wants for her baby is to feel happiness... she feels like a 'problem' herself Because anxiety and depression control most parts of her life. BUT She's forgotten that she's so much bigger than the monsters latched on her shoulders... Hopefully the universe has the right plan for them all ❤️
