Teenagers

JB

If we all had the chance to start over

We would

If we could let go of all of the thoughts that keep us down

We would

If after talking to you we could stay strong and not break down crying

We would

If after you scream at us for an hour and could go to bed happy

Would you

If you could feel completely perfect at our expense

Would you

If you could live a day walking in our shoes and understand us better

Would you

No

You

Wouldn’t

Dare.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I'm a teenager, and I know it seems cliche to write poetry, but it really helps me organize my thoughts. This is about how when you're a teenager your parents can scream and shout at you and don't really remember what it was like to be your age. It sucks.

WELCOME JB ~ Thanks for your first Poem ~ O YES I remember it well ! I was teen ~ not so long ago ~ and I can empathise with your grouse ! I'm not a DAD but I am a Tutor in a College (Applied Science) and most of my students are TEENS and as a Personal Tutor I have to deal with some of the ways in which they are misunderstood especially by Parents some of whom are 50 + ! I am still a TEEN at Heart so i can emphasise ! best wishes ~ Yours BRIAN Please check my poems ~ Thanks B.
