So Jesus on the cross;
Was that a lost parable?
Or just his breathing laboured
Mixed with blood.
Did he think of Magdalen
Or the doubts of Gethsemane
As the day wore to evening
And the ruin of being a man.
Did he die in the end
As a forbearing god,
Or as a broken man,
Confronting in terror the folly of his arrogance.
Impotence revealed at the end, and never conscidered truths.
For his sake I hope
His forbearance held
Not because I have need of a god
But for the human charity of it.
Mine did not.

I hope you are not really a broken man,
Confronting in terror the folly of his arrogance.... as for Jesus, he was just a nice Jewish boy that people exploited through the centuries.....
The poem is about forbearance being a mask for impotence.
In my case was that true, and did realising that break me?
To some extent, yes. I only let go of some of my forbearance. The rest was my charity.
I have very solid self esteem. I'm not fragile. I can gaze into the abyss without falling in.
🙂
Thank goodness someone can..............
Maybe someone has to....
