Franks Psychiatry 2 #16: token economy

Frank Prem

first year students
are not allowed
much responsibility

but I am in control
of the ward cigarettes

a cigarette after a shower
a cigarette to behave
a cigarette for helping with the cleaning
a cigarette for singing a song

my life is taken over
surrounded
by the cigarettes and smoke
that make this world
go around

while I
poor fool
decided to stop smoking
just a week ago

Smoking was the norm back in those days. I gave up smoking 35 years, 4 months, 1week 1 day ago, not that I am counting of course.

It was indeed, GF. It took me years to rid myself of te habit. I too can count almost to the day (and the dollar).

      Frank,
I like that title: TOKEN ECONOMY

Smoked for a year many, many, many moons ago just to be cool, to be social, to fit in with the crowd, etc...in other words, just being stupid!...(long story why I smoked only for one year)...
Now I have to deal with secondhand smoking! C’est la vie!

Yup. That's the way of it Laura. I'm clean, these days, thankfully.
