She was best in black and white
Had them swooning through the night
Sometimes yes and sometimes tease
Promised all her mysteries
Time has passed and now she's gone
Just the screen to sing her song
She gave them all some great romance
But brother, could that lady dance!

- Comment from author about the poem: I just love old movies and the old stars - this poem is a tribute to Rita and a vehicle to show you the video - more fun than anything! Enjoy!! Get up and dance! (Best tribute was that Fred Astaire said she was the partner he most enjoyed dancing with! Wow!)

Made me want to get them out again - her moves that is 🙂
Wasn't it great (the video) - she and Fred Astaire looked like they were having the most fun of all........! I don't think people think of her first as a dancer - which is what she was.............(I fixed typos in case you read while they were still there)............
Never been anyone to touch them.

Lorna,
A great tribute to Rita! She was something else! I’m with you about loving old movies and old stars! Great choice of pic and video...Rita Hayworth, The Bee Gees, Stayin’ Alive...Wow...What a treat!!
Let’s dance 💃🏻 my lady💃🏻!!
~Laura~
Watching the video (again!) has set this day off on the right (and left) foot!
🤣🤣
I knew Fred Astaire as a dancer, but I never knew she was a dancer. Incredible! Excellent poem to honor Rita.
Dancing! What an art! I danced ballet for 9 years when young - helped me sit (and stay) on a horse later!
And I born with two left feet. LOL. But had I been blessed with feet to dance with I'd be a dancer too. And I'm sure the horse was glad you learned to sit and stay in the saddle. I tried that once too, didn't work out too well. LOL.

great tribute to a great artist.
Hi Lorna,
As a film buff I could not resist reading your wonderful poem on Rita Hayworth.
One of the most divine love goddesses of the silver screen.
Keep writing
