An empty cot, a vacant pram a lonely basket that’s too light to understand.
An unsucked dummy, a deflated tummy, two heartbroken people called your daddy and mummy.
With Christmas so near there was one thing I’d fear and that was not having my little brother here.
Unworn clothes and unused nappies, even though you’re not with us, you looked so happy.
A beautiful face in a beautiful place, what a wonderful life just gone to waste.
Hearts full of despair unable to repair, we know you’ll be well looked after up there.
The wishes were wished, your unopened eyes I tenderly kissed, unable to see through this foggy mist.
It feels like you’re being replaced but put in the right place it’s courage I’ve asked for but never embraced.
