You.
Me.
Us.
The day I first laid eyes on you, it was like witnessing the first snow in the desert.
Made my heart flutter, like no other.
Being me, I was nervous to introduce myself.
So handsome, so tall, you had it all.

Feelings were shared, we both felt for each other.
Things happened.
Lies were told.
Hearts were torn in two.
That being mine.
I called.
I texted.
No answer, but empty voice messages.
I'll always come back, cause something deep down wants it to last.
But it all repeats.
And I am left there, with nothing but washed dreams and broken sorrows.
Wondering, why me...

WELCOME FRIEND ~ thanks for your first poem ! Elegantly penned but dripping with the Pathos of Lost Love ! This is a very empathetic site and most of us (M & F) can mirror your experience!
I have had almost 20 years of "courting" Ladies (positive relationship with Angela at the moment) and I have learned something from each attachment ! My Mantra is "Better to have Loved and Lost ~ than never to have loved at all !" This is easier for a Man to say than a Lady. I trust you will soon find a compatible Lover ~ Yours BRIAN
