My Cat Mollie

kitcat

Some people say cats are boring

Oh no! I really think not

my cat Mollie is crazy

And I love her a lot

As I am writing this poem

She is biting the tip of my pen

I distract her with her toy mouse

But now she is back again

She sits on my bathroom window ledge

Looking through frosted glass?

I do not know what she is looking at

It is amazing how long she lasts

When I am sitting eating my meals

She comes over to smell my breath

Find that quite amusing

Checks my plate for anything left

I go to the loo for a quick wee

On the bath she jumps, tail in my face

Oh well no peace for the wicked

She knows how to invade my space

I brought her a lovely cosy bed

Not interested goes nowhere near

Sooner sleep in the bath or sink

Got the message, she made that clear

Also brought her a huge scratch post

I thought it looked really grand

Mollie not impressed and never used

As she prefers an elastic band

I would be so lost without her now

If she was not with me anymore

So cute and funny and is the boss

She is one pussycat I really adore

  • BRIAN & ANGELA

WELCOME ELAINE ~ Thanks for your lovely POEM ~ I am a CAT PERSON and I love them and they are just as you describe ! I can't have CAT in my Flat or even a CAT in a HAT (boo~hoo) ! BUT MY MUM lives near and often call (especially for Sunday Lunch ~ like only Mum's can make !) so I have a chance to renew my acquaintance with TIGGA and BOOTS (a Tabby). They react just like yours and you can't coerce them into anything be it a BED or a SCRATCH POST ~ All CATS are independent and always will be ! DOGS are just the opposite ~ predictable and (in my experience) much less fun ! Thanks for caring & sharing ~ Yours BRIAN I'm just half your age (34) and still (just about) single ! Please check my Poems and I have a FUSION (you have to click on developing) about EASTER ! I have added you as a FRIEND ! Love the PHOTO pf MOLLIE / BOSS ~ awesome !

      Hi Brian
Thank you for the lovely welcome so nice, and thank you so much for the lovely complement on the poem
So glad to hear you love cats too but sad you can not have any cats of your own in your flat , or hat ha ha. I bet that cheers you up when you see your mum for Sunday lunch, (The bestest ever roast of course) and than see Tigga and Boots, and so pleased to hear they are just like Mollie 🙂 I do agree with you about cats, they are really independent they make me laugh
Ah so your half my age, my brain age is your age. So your just about single? maybe just broke up (I hope not) or nearly going to be married 🙂
I certainly will go over to read your poems will look forward to reading them, I will look for the Easter one first, Oh! and will add you as a friend, this site is very new to me, I'll get there
