The UnKnown Man

G-Trebble

                 By Gregory Hampton

One day I saw a man I thought I’d never see

He was cursing with the smell of marijuana coming from his mouth

And the way he talked you could tell he was from the south

Just standing there staring at me

I didn’t know what to say or do

I looked in his eyes as I could see tears

He says “I’ve finally caught you after all these years”

I looked around and there was no where to run too

Now I tried to take precaution

Yet this man was of great size

As he neared closer and closer to me

My head grew nauseous

Because I then realized

This man I’m afraid of is the old me

That 'old me' doesn't necessarily need to be scary, you can change your life now you are aware of it and not become the 'old me' of the past.
