My body singing
Your name my mantra
I am tethered by your smile
Collecting the moment
I fracture silently
Yet louder than ever before
As you leave, I wither
Though you take me with you
Unbeknownst, a coin in your pocket
The most beautiful heart
I am shattered
As I run my hands through my hair

Welcome Karoline ~ Thanks for your first poem a very intriguing expression of your Love ~ expressed in a quartet of Irish Haiku ! 1. Tethered by your smile ! 2. Silently fracturing ? 3. A coin in his pocket ~ A token ? I always give my Lady (ANGELA) a token when we are apart ! 4. SHATTERED ? Because of the parting or something else ? Thanks for sharing & caring ! YOURS BRIAN Please check my Poems ~ Thanks B.
Hi Brian!
Thanks for your comment 😊
'I fracture silently' is because everytime he leaves again I feel like a fissure is opening up in my heart. 'A coin in your pocket' is in reference to him unknowingly carrying my love with him after he's left, and 'I am shattered' is because this has been ongoing for so long that I sometimes feel there is no piece of me left unbroken anymore.
Sorry for getting so heavy!
Karoline
THANKS FOR YOUR POEM AND EXPLANATION ~ I love a bit of Irish Intrigue and whenever I\'ve been in N Ireland you all have a way with words and the CRAIC ! I\'m glad I was not too far off in my analysis ! I gave my love a Toy Monkey for her to remember ME by ~ She gave me a PANDA (a TOY one !) to put on my Pillow. I was born & raised in Liverpool which is why I have a touch of Irish sentimentality and love of language especially Poetry ! Every Blessing to you and Your Girls ~ Yours BRIAN Thanks for adding me as your First MPS Friend. B.
