Franks Psychiatry 2 #32: huntington’s marionette

Frank Prem

she is young
perhaps forty years old
but in with the psycho-geriatrics

huntington’s chorea
makes her dance
in a long slow death
that steals the mind
before it takes the body

she is drooling
incontinent
disgusting

and for the duration
of a six-week long
rostered placement
has possession
of my breaking heart

This is some crazy and unpredictable stuff. I like it.

Ha, Nicholas! Welcome to my world.

      Frank,
So difficult to watch...I’m sure! Such a horrible untreatable disorder! Do you know how long she lived from the onset of the disorder?

Not much past mid-40's, I think Laura. It strikes pretty young.

          So, so sad!

Such an awful disease that strikes so young.

            Very nasty indeed, GF.
