A Special Walk
It was a special walk
And the whole school got to go
Farther than a city block
Down a country road
Children laughed and ran
As we ventured out
Our principal was also there
As the grand marshal proud
It was a wonderful day
Where a creek rippled by
We splashed water on our faces
And gave a little sigh
The little road turned
And there was a wooden bridge
We threw stones while standing there
To scratch a little itch
Two ruffled little quail
Led us further on
Running down the road
With their Bob-White song
A little shower came
And we enjoyed it too
Some danced in the rain
As we walked that afternoon
