UNTIED.

Fay Slimm.

Untied.

Unleashed from restraint the falcon lances
through cloud to clear sky.
Hood-free and tetherless wide wings tackle
ground-to-air steady rise.

Pinned to blind state bejeweled eyes strain
to reconstruct sight.
Leathered claws in predator fashion disdain
gloved hold on natural flight.

Thrown into freedom's space massive eagle
dignifies ascent with style.
Cast off shackles mean pinnions now wheel
toward liberty's height.

Tetherless captives enter each sky-stream
with untied delight.
Oh to release every caged bird to cell-free
dynamic's real birthright.

Beautiful write Fay, raptors are wonderful to watch, especially in the wild, I have seen many in my forays with nature.

Gorgeous depiction of a beautiful bird Fay! I had the privilege to hold one on my arm once at a corporate thingy do where we were supposed to all "bond"..... ha ha.... I bonded with the bird. And I'm with you - let's let them all free!

A fine write Fay. We have some kestrels that swoop around our way. The other birds all fly off when they see them.
