A Fishing Day

w c

A Fishing Day

We went to the little lake

For catfish we had stocked

And made it for a day

Our favorite fishing spot

Our corks bobbed and went

Floating on the water

We ate snacks with dirty hands

With no concern or bother

A summer squall built itself

And we went on alert

Concerned about the lightning

And the thunder that we heard

Rain began to fall

And we gathered our things up

Taking refuge ‘til it stopped

With a rainbow there above

We survived the storm that day

And we faced the gusting wind

And we were very thankful

To fish that day again

Good write. I used to fish every weekend a long, long time ago.
