and I give them so much of myself
everything I can
until my head is a spin
of issues and events
of decisions and repairs
plans and predictions
treatment and containment
I give them all I have
and it is not enough
never quite enough
I am
so
tired

There are so many good people out there doing good works in places like this, it is not much that I can give except my profound respect and thanks.
Cheers GF, and thank you.
It's been a full career. Not done yet.
This reminds me of that saying; you don't notice you're drowning because you're busy being everyone else's anchor. It's exhausting. You have to take time for you.
Good saying, that, SLR. All a long time ago now.
Thnaks for reading and commenting.
Frank,
I cannot even imagine the mental and physical fatigue imposed upon you to do your job! Astonishing!
~Laura~
I can tell from looking at this and the preceding and following poems that I was pretty burnt out by then, Laura. Clearly needing to change jobs, which I did.
Wouldn't do it again for quids.
