Pleading Eyes

Amy

I awake to the feeling of being watched,

it appears I have caught the gaze of another.

I look up, but to my dismay I am staring at myself.

I am greeted with a genuine smile, but there's further to be examined.

I stare into my own eyes and see a different story,

I see soreness, hurt, someone pleading for help,

To bad nobody will listen,

For my mouth is sealed shut with this smile.

Great post, great beginning. But remember, we are here to listen. To read anything you are comfortable sharing. You don't have to show us your frozen smile. Poetry is great therapy. As you'll read among the poets here at MPS. Welcome.
