Raft of reeds

dusk arising

i cant stand lies
because i never suspect they're there
until its too late
and something precious is broken

like our bond
once so genuine, now afloat upon
a raft of reeds
falling apart upon your waves

Very good emotive write, those who lie remove any trust that may have been with them.

Such a clever description of love and lies as a frail raft Dusk - and I love being reminded of Kon Tiki (which actually held up pretty well for most of the journey)....

You were right dusk, our minds were running on the same thread today. Love the last line 'a raft of reeds falling apart upon your waves' .

It hurt to read this, I definitely relate having built a beautiful boat to watch it fall apart. Quite beautifully done.
