Regret

Regret

My heart is locked in a chest

To hide what you can't see

Can't know

Locked inside that chest

My secrets that nobody knows

If I unlock the lock

How do I know that I can trust you

Will you accept me like I am

With all my scars and regret

Regret

That i gave him a key

Beautiful. The dilemma, do i trust again and put my head on the block - or do i hold back some and never be fulfilled.
So well expressed here. One of lifes perpetual challenges for the single person.

I think I've read this in Dutch, didn't I? 😉 I still love this poem! It's as beautiful in English as it is in Dutch!
