Meeting Time

 

I have an open room

Welcoming to drifters too

Where with coffee we discuss

All the things that bother us

 

We take turns going ‘round

With advice and solutions sound

Where we listen to each other

And want the best for one another

 

Anonymity is our game

With everyone known by his first name

As we wander in and out

Recovering in the little house

 

Every Sunday we celebrate

Our birthdays with some pineapple cake

And get a coin for our time

And tell our story and recline

 

Old timers take their seats

And their favorite stories repeat

And everyone gets along

Knowing where they belong
