I am Alive

Caroline Elizabeth

I am alive

when I am on top of the world

and the sky curves at the horizon.

I am alive

when the breath leaves my lungs

and I am close friends with death.

I am alive when

seas of faces listen

to my craft.

Sometimes I forget

that I am alive

but not anymore

for my life is everlasting.
