franks psychiatry 6 #76: still its creature (final)

Frank Prem

in aftermath

it seems so clear

there are few mental health
happy endings

and there are no
simple cures

there’s just the risk
of cynicism
among repeat offenders
with bad habits

and minds that won’t
take the time
to learn

there’s only so much
before enough
of trying to change worlds

enough of listening
catching flak
and shouldering tears

of bearing
other people’s burdens

there is no room
no role
for heroes

this is mental health
and all it requires is you
and I
to be its creatures

      Laura, thank you.

There are a couple more pieces floating around that didn't fit the selection we determined for the 'set', but an end has to come sometime, and this was it.

It's been a pleasure and thank you for reading and commenting all the way. I appreciated your presence.

      Cheers.

BTW, I have several more series of poems. I'll do more in a little while, but a break for now.

        You’re very welcome,
        my friend!
        Enjoy your break!😊

As Laura has said, I too have enjoyed all your writings. Such a complex world which may not ever be understood but my absolute respect to you and to all who deal with those who have these problems.

Thank you for your wonderful insight.

Cheers GF. Thanks for your presence throughout and your comments. This set began as a way to try to write my way to a place of better understanding, particularly after something horrific had come my way, or a conundrum I'd never considered had to be addressed. It might have become something else along the way.

Thanks again. I'm delighted you've enjoyed the set.
