The Inside Out

rosel15

Just because I’m living,
Doesn’t mean I’m alive.
Just because I’m breathing,
Doesn’t mean I haven’t
Already died.

My lungs may breath,
But it’s a breath sharp,
Warm yet cold.
It’s forcing down the daggers
Fighting in my gut.

My mouth may smile
But it’s a smile protecting the truth.
It deceives, hides
And paints a picture
Of the happiness
I wish I had.

My eyes may twinkle
But it’s just the internal fire
Because, my friend
It’s roaring
from the inside out.

I will assure you,
I feel no pain, my friend
Because you see,

I’ve already died.

WELCOME ROSEL ~ thanks for your first Poem ~ very challenging ! MPS is a very empathetic site and we like a CHALLENGE ~ You say you're already DEAD ~ but you're not a ZOMBIE ~ because you Breath ~ Smile ~ Twinkling Eyes and in my experience ZOMBIES don't smile & twinkle ! Poetry is very cathartic and I trust by sharing this poem (and getting a comment !) will make you feel less DEAD ~ sometimes I felt dead when I was TEEN ~ so I can empathise. The way MPS works is by mutual
reading & commenting ~ you can also build up a group of friends. I trust you will feel less dead tomorrow ~ OK ~ Thinking of you ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)

This made my heart hurt, Very Beautiful. Spill the roaring on paper and breathe life back into yourself!

This touches me in so many different ways. It is a very eye opening poem. I hope by venting it out it helps you feel a little more ease. Stay strong 😀
