Tune: St Cuthbert
('The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended')
Hebrews Chapter 11 part
*******
Now faith is the substance of the things
Hoped for, realisation rings
Within is, and faith [is] the evidence
Of things not seen, not shown to sense
Through faith we understand that the worlds
Wee framed by the word of God, yes
So that things which are seen were not made
From visible things, not thus arrayed
Many died in faith, not having received
Promises for which they believed
But they did see them afar off graced
And assured of them they them embraced
They too confessed that they were pilgrims
On the earth, light of faith not dims
Here not their country, here earth-bounden
Their faith looked to country of heaven
Without faith it be not possible
To please God, for who on Him call
Must believe that He is God, and He
Rewards diligent seekers, see

Orchi,
Yes, “faith [is] the evidence
Of things not seen...”

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Laura.
Ah yes, Faith. Such a worthy theme.
Thanks Laura.
“Faith is to believe what we do not see, and the reward of faith is to see what we believe.” St. Augustine.
Thanks Gary.
Faith is so precious, it is a shame it gets questioned by so much sorrow in life.
Thanks Gold.
