HangingbyaHalo

Do you remember laying in my arms telling me that the sun rose and set in my eyes?

I wonder what changed?

Do you remember all the times I picked you up?

When life, love or anything knocked you down.

I was there.

Did you not see me?

I fought what I thought was the world for you.

Yet now I’m wondering how I didn’t see.

I had been fighting you to be a part of your story.

To be present,

To love and be loved,

To save you...from yourself.

I painted my name across every page of your book.

In hopes that you would see.

I had intended to be there until the end.

But you had already written how it would go,

And I didn’t fit into your story line.

I was an understudy,

an extra character,

Fading into the background,

Like that sun you once said lived in my eyes.

Every now and then...

You would give me just enough to feel alive...

A few more lines to make me feel like I meant something...

Only for me to be left yearning for more.

So, Today I wrote my own lines,

I practiced all the things that I would say,

It was amazing.

I took the lead..

And you

I saw you standing in awe

as the curtains closed....

Very good emotive write. Now those curtains are closed your life can move on and open some new curtains into the light and joy.
