The mountains and the misty moon
The sunset and the sea
The world of wonder shining bright
Are not enough for me
When I take pause to scan the lake
Into its depths do peer
I long to see reflected there
The one I love so dear
Beside my own familiar face
Caught in that mystic glass
I yearn to see the girl I lost:
Sweet Kate, my lovely lass
For then the rocks and crags I’d climb
To hear the skylark sing
And o’er creation’s hills and vales
I’d roam to hear them ring
With love and laughter like before
When at the kissing gate
I’d met the one with beauty’s smile
My dearest, darling Kate

Perfect in every way...... so lilting......
Thank you, Lorna. Appreciate your kind comments. I'm sure it's not perfect though. 😊
Blue-eyed Bolla,
No advice from me here!
You’ve done it!
You’ve followed your own advice in reference to being so happy now with your Dearest, darling...(I love the pic)...
“I will try to reflect this more in my poetry”...
AND YOU HAVE!
I enjoyed reading the entire poem. I especially like the last stanza! Bravo 👏🏻
~Laura~
Thank you. You have made me think seriously about focusing more on the present and looking forward with hope to the future, rather than living in the past. Again, thank you for your support.
Excellent! Loved every line!
Glad you liked my poor little poem.😊
