Beach

Lisa Wilson

All I can hear is the ocean. The waves lap against the shore and recede steadily. As I step, I can hear the sand crunching below me. I hop from one spot to the next in order to avoid seaweed and various pebbles and shells.

The noise of the world starts to fade in. Seagulls, people, cars. Soon I can’t even hear the ocean anymore. Its sound has been masked by the pollution that is modern day life.
