I feel like I’m drowning
Drowning in the lack of love
From a mother
And from a father
Drowning in the fact that
Everyone wants to touch me
And no one wants to love me
Drowning in the distance
Between me and my future
Because how can one look years ahead
And plan for everything to come
When you’re struggling to swim through the next 24 hours
How can you prepare for life
When you don’t feel you’ll make it?
I’m drowning in the eyes of a man
Who sees my pain and won’t let go
Who is there without being there
Who loves me
Not the way I love him
And I’m drowning in pain
The pain of knowing
Tomorrow will come.

Verse 3 highlights the problems of the Present and an uncertain Future ! Verse 5 ~ People who are Physically Present but Emotionally Absent ~ we can all relate to that and we all end up Drowning in Pain !
