Birddie Jane

There is this...

Profound loneliness

That burns in my chest

When I think of you

I have no

Cognative memories

I do have physical memories

Of that year

We spent together

I had so much

To give to you

So filled with love

Only for you

You say it hurts

The walls I've built

The distance I keep

The words I say

To keep you at bay

But you hurt me first

You broke my heart

And destroyed a bond

Created for a mother and daughter

I don't hate you

Please know that

But I can't

Let myself know you
