The Crisis

here

I lost my driving force

I dived in

I flounded in an ocean of despair

I kept my head above the water

furiously paddling against the strong current

I grew weary

and decided to give up

I gulped down the salty water

it filled my lungs and clouded my brain

suddenly fitting screaming laughing hallucinating

my skin dissipates into the water

falling apart

screaming

my head going under

I start to enjoy the agony

the feeling of my heart slowing

suddenly I'm wrenched

kicking screaming flailing shivering gasping

like a baby taking its first breath

helpless and alien

into the world

waiting is a strangers loving arms

the stranger holds my head

they whisper that I'm loved

I will be cared for

that everything will be okay
