Our Feeder Friends
They were at the little gazebo
And at the suet too
Celebrating the day
From dawn to afternoon
We always got a rush
At seeing them feeding there
As beautiful as a thrush
And vocal everywhere
They were safe with us
As for diversity we tried
Whether at seed or nectar
On our food they relied
At times there were buntings
At the feeders too
In their beautiful colors
Green, yellow, red and blue
There was a satisfaction
In helping our guests along
And a great attraction
Each day for their song
Our friends were there and eager
And visited us a while
As we felt our best
When they made us smile

I too feed the birds in the garden and at the moment with all the young birds around it is costing us a fortune, but the pleasure we get from watching them is well worth it.
Thanks, Goldfinch. I agree that birding can be quite expensive.
A fine write w c. For us, the birds seem to all turn up at once, eat the food, then gone!
Thanks, orchidee. Birds do sometimes eat and run.
