Calling on angels

SLR

The silence fills the room,

Neither knowing what to do.

We both know that it's over,

But too scared to say we're through.

So we're calling on angels,

Hoping they'll heal the aching,

Because the chance that we're taking,

Could end with two hearts breaking.

I look into your eyes,

As tears roll down my face.

Knowing the time has come,

To go our separate ways.

So we're calling on angels,

Hoping they'll heal the aching,

Because the chance that we're taking,

Could end with two hearts breaking.

I can feel my heart die

As you walk away from me,

And I pray that I can make it,

Because it hurts to be free.

So I'm calling on angels,

Hoping they'll heal the aching,

Because the chance that I'm taking,

Could end with my heart breaking.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is actually a song that I wrote years ago but I can't write music so it's stayed like this. :-) I can hear the melody in my head sometimes. Hope you enjoy it as is.

Thank you so much! I was heartbroken when I wrote it. I'm glad to say that it worked out though.
