When I woke up scared you were next to me
Your warmth was like pure solace to me
I looked at your face and felt warmth, but you looked at me and felt cold.
The choice you made reversed our hearts. You love life and I feel ice.
A cold hand is clutching my heart, it's in a cage, but your heart is now free.
And now that your gone my world's turned cold, it turns out gold can rust after all.

Love that last line
Strong imagery there
Judging by the last comment im assuming this is your first time here
Welcome to our lonely little corner of the world
