Fools gold

Elliotburroughs

When I woke up scared you were next to me

Your warmth was like pure solace to me

I looked at your face and felt warmth, but you looked at me and felt cold.

The choice you made reversed our hearts. You love life and I feel ice.

A cold hand is clutching my heart, it's in a cage, but your heart is now free.

And now that your gone my world's turned cold, it turns out gold can rust after all.
