Keeping Time

Keeping Time

Little wheels are turning inside

That keep the watch keeping time

The hands moving slow and steady

To tell time always ready

With each second there is change

With life rarely remaining the same

And before you know it time is gone

Too late then to act upon

Things change each minute too

Like the dawn and morning dew

Events we cannot reverse

Or replay of mother earth

And there are hours gone

Some seeming short and others long

The time passed by having fun

A shorter hour for everyone

On the round little face

The piece shows the change in date

And helps to notify

That the days are passing by
