Into the supermarket I went,
To do the weekly shop,
And he was there, that man,
That man that was always in the way.
Wherever he went
He was in the way,
He was in the way of everybody!
It was not a good day,
As that man in the way,
Was me!

- Comment from author about the poem: Yes, every where I went I seemed to be in the way of others in the supermarket. I saw the song performed by Julia McKenzie in a show called 'Side by side by Sondheim' back in the 1970s.

Oohh why do we 'exist' sometimes?! lol. Some may walk straight through us, or at us? You entered that battlefield of the supermarkets? Is it worse than 1066?!
And should those motorised wheelchairs be on the path or roads? Some are monsters when they drive them - straight at ya!
Cheers Orchi, those motorised wheelchairs are a pain.
Oops can't see the clip......
Fixed.
Andy,
While I was reading, I was ready to give that man a piece of my mind till I read...
“As that man in the way,
Was me!” 😉
A great Sunday morning treat!
Thank you.
~Laura~
Thank you Laura, it will be somebody elses turn next week no doubt. Just a bit of fun.
...and then we’ll “Send in the Clowns”!🤣🤣
I really enjoyed this, it gave me a smile and a laugh... that’s always a welcome thing.
I have done my task, making someone smile and life is so fulfilling.
I think we all have those days. Enjoyed.
We surely do.
