Tune: Regent Square
('Light's abode, celestial Salem')
Isaiah 41 v.10-18
*******
Fear you not, for I am with you
I your Lord God, always true
Be not dismayed, I will help you
And will strengthen you anew
Yes, I will uphold you surely
By my righteous hand it be
Behold, all they that were incensed
Against you, an hostile sensed
They shall be ashamed, confounded
E'en what they against you said
They that strive with you shall perish
You my people I cherish
You shall seek them, but find them not
Enemies gone, that their lot
They that war against you shall be
As nothing, I shall act, see
For I the LORD God your hand hold
My gracious help shall be told
Though Israel be as a worm small
The LORD shall come, help them all
For He their redeemer, he be
Holy One of Israel, see
Your enemies shall be as chaff
At their mockings you shall laugh
When the poor and needy do seek
Water, it to humble, meek
Shall quench their thirst, and will them hear
And I shall guide them and steer
Unto rivers I will open
In the heights, with fountains then
Founts in valleys, wilderness pools
Water springs in dry lands, calls
The LORD, proclaims there they shall be
He shall work such wonders, He
Comforting them, He the LORD great
Not abandoned to mere fate

Another good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold. Ooh a new hymn appeared today. Printed on a page. Not from usual hymn-book. It went downhill fast. No-one knew the tune, and it was not 'modern', but bit rubbishy. Lines of (Jesus) 'amused in the kitchen' (Martha & Mary story I suppose), and 'Taking fishermen and fools' - insulting really. 'Fools' are those who continue on being 'wickedly blind' but not in sense of village idiots. So that didn't help today! doh! Must find out what clod wrote it. Seems to be someone in a world of their own. We dunno what half the hymn meant! Rant over!
We have some like that, one of my fellow bass singers despairs when the arrangement is by Paul Eddington- Wright!
Heaven help us all. Loving your writing skills once again. A fine piece of the Lords writing. Smoothly written.
Thanks Kevin. I gotta sing them too, ya know. Arrgghh - ya hear me singing?! lol
You never cease to amaze. Wonderful.
Thanks Heart.
