Every Now and Then

swingline

Wash away the destiny

Sea foam and the sands of time

One grain a day

Our names written on the bubbles

of the brine

We invest the hours

We have to lose

To measure the progress

of the choices

we choose

To be human

We sacrifice the regrets

Burn the sorrow

on the altar

and pay our debts

Yet the winds whip

the foam across the beaches

the days of our lives

and every now and then I pause to listen

as it teaches
