Beechworth Streets #01: still (standing)

Frank Prem

standing still
while the rain comes down

standing still
for a hundred years

this old town
is standing
still

still
for a hundred years

A mere one hundred years pah! I'm writing from England, Europe you know, the place with historic buildings, castles, roman walls, henges etc.... i'm only kidding you.
I really like your piece. It's well spaced giving it pace. The repetition is cleverly done and overall its a thoughtful and thought provoking piece.

Hi DA. Thank you. Yes, we've got no age in our buildings to compare, and in this case it all came on the skirts of gold in the 1850's.

Glad you enjoyed the piece. I found I could take pics in the no-light before work, and the effect of the rain was interesting. I have a little series that I'll run through over the next couple of weeks, with luck.

      Cheers,

Those old towns can bring great memories. The one in which I was brought up was pre-Roman. The main school in which I was taught was opened in 1703 and a Roman Wall went through it. Great memories.

        Lovely memories, GF.
