I wonder what she is thinking
This young woman
As she leans against the parapet
Of Quai du Conti
Looking out
Over the Seine
Towards Pont des Arts.
She is smiling
As though she knows something
Nobody else does.
A secret perhaps
A secret that makes her smile
A secret she won’t share
A secret known only to her.
I wonder what she’s thinking
