Who Could Ask For More.

Goldfinch60

Down the stairs at dawns early light,

Turned on the radio,

And the music of Smetana caused me to stop

As the Vltava sailed into my ears.

The River leading me majestically into my new day,

Who could ask for more.

I turned on the computer,

And there before me sat a stunning view,

A view of waves crashing onto the beach.

So there I was stunned,

The music of the River flowing,

Into the picture of the Sea,

Who could ask for more.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This was true, I came down about 5:15 this morning (UK) put the radio on as I always do and there was Vltava by Smetana being played on the radio. I turned on my laptop and it comes up with random pictures and the one this morning was of a large wave breaking on the shore.

A fine write an start to the day Gold. A fine day ahead too hopefully!
To be gloomy - those dark mornings drawing in now? Depends what time we get up, I suppose.

      Thanks Orchi.

The mornings are my friend, I am generally up before 6 am.

Lovely soothing music. You lucky man, your devices obviously love you. I got the blue screen of death on my laptop last night but managed to resurrect it.

      • Goldfinch60

        Thank you da.

That blue screen of death is always worrying, certainly back in the days of early computing (which I worked in) it really was death in many cases.

You asked for more - like Oliver Twist?!

No not today the gruel had been eaten by your guinea pigs.

                • orchidee

They might eat gruel. They can tend to eat almost anything. They get to a certain size and grow no more, but can be eating machines!
