I Know It\'s Only Tuesday, but I\'m Tired

These weekends can do that to you anytime, Liz!
Just kidding!
I do like the way you use the Tuesday blues as a metaphor for sadness, maybe disappointment, heartache? Your few lines leave the poem wide open for interpretation. Good writing, like it!

Hard to believe the sadness in your poem after looking at your photo. I see enthusiasm in your eyes; those eyes also speak of a bright future and countless dreams that await you. It may be only Tuesday, but by Wednesday, you will be awash with energy and optimism.

\'Killing me softly with his song\'....
Nicely written, Liz, with a lot of emotion between the lines.

Another thing is - I don\'t write cryptically. This poem here flows easily. I suppose if we do write complicated stuff, we know what it means, but not much use if no-one else knows what it means!

A fine write Liz. Love is.... my hungry guinea pigs too! We can\'t fool them if they know food is about.
Doh! I went to one poetry group. They snubbed me a bit, mainly as I do mainly spiritual writes. I had to sit through some guff there, and pretend to like their poems, I can tell you! lol.

Love Is a Very Hungry Caterpillar

Reminiscent of my childhood, the metaphorical us of the caterpillar is, to me, a powerful allusion. In a way the innocence of my adolescent interpretation of the children\'s book, \"The Very Hungry Caterpillar,\" takes on a matured insight through your poem.

Bon appetit, Liz! Hope you don\'t go hungry now!
I find the caterpillar metaphor is both inspired and imaginative. Well written!

Welcome to MPS, Elizabeth.
You posted a very nice opening poem. I do like the writing and I do like the structure, as well as the metaphor.
A sweet, sweet poem!
