A Day With The Flowers
dusk arising said:

As we enter our senior years we begin to perceive the world and it\'s beauty differently, taking time to appreciate that which we took for granted.
I suppose it is like falling in love with the natural world and yes... its very comforting to lay down in the countryside, alone with mother nature, and let the world outside our immediate senses drift away as we ourselves drift into sleep.

You captured it.

Stain Glass

BRIAN HERE ~ GOOD EVENING VANESSA ~ Welcome to MPS you will find it a very empathetic site ! It functions by reading & commenting on each others POEMS ~ OK ! Thanks for your first POEM ! It is an excellent *free verse* poem ~ pulsating with rhythm and on Brokeness & Repair a subject straight from your own Heart ! The best Poetry is always Personal & Cathartic ~ it helps to heal the broken hearted ~ AMEN
We love the analogy you draw between an average *Pane of Glass* (which is like our day-to-day lives) being shattered (by circumstance) and reformed into something more beautiful ~ A STAINED GLASS WINDOW ! It is only by experiencing ~ loss & defeat ~ that our character really develops ~ AMEN !
The collolary analogy is also TRUE ! We have much of the Worlds most beautiful ANTIQUE STAINED GLASS in the UK ~ and when you go and see Modern Stained Glass being made it is simply hundreds of coloured glass fragments of NO intrinsic individual value ! BUT they have all been *Cut to Size* ! In the hands of the Craftsman ~ they are assembled in to something of Beauty & Value. The WHOLE WINDOW is worth more than a THOUSAND times more than the *Sum of its Parts* ~ AMEN. So too in our CHARACTER ! Each little experience (sone negative ~ some positive) in our lives is like a fragment of Coloured Glass which adds another facet to our Character increasing its Beauty & Value ! Wen our inner light shines through we appear as radient as the Rose Windows in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris !

There is much more *Food for Thought* in your very elegant Poem ~ more please !

Blessings & Peace & Joy in 2020
Yours Brian & Angela (my Fiancee) ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™
