And my son spent several nights with us because his GF had to work all night for several days at community warming centers for the homeless and those with no where to go during power outages. It was like having teenagers again! We got to feed them, fix up beds, entertain them, share the bathroom, do laundry, and catch up on everyday life. Your poem hit home for us. Each of our children, now in their 30s, still has their old room in our home waiting for any time they need it. Sigh. Thanks for sharing!
