SEEKING WORDS
arqios said:

There in a life lived long enough would be a dragonness to every venturous boy, it would seem. And she, this dragon-girl almost always wins the game of backgammon. As for seeking words, they often seek us out first and in turn serves as impetus to seek them out. Such an engaging tale and lovely to have heard the poem voiced and interpreted. Most enjoyed.

It would seem that variations of that Roman holiday theme echo and repeat, reverberate and reincarnate for many a visitor and the interactions they chance upon! Thanks for sharing.

LA SACRESTIA ABBANDONATA

this way over my head
since I\'m not that invested in theological
topics..
but still, I found this to be a well written niche poem
and I think ts eliot\'s quote
helps make your theme more accessible..
indeed, how to affirm faith and hope
when the conduit\'s for your chosen belief
are mere fallible humans
committing heinous crimes, in the name of that same faith
you believe, offers humanity
their best window of opportunity
to give existence, meaning
and themselves a chance at salvation...
all just a mirage\'s, reach away
it seems!

a thought provoking read
written so well, made me fight
to try and comprehend it
well
as best I can, anyway)

A STILL LIFE BY JUAN SANCHEZ COTAN
L. B. Mek said:

personally, I\'m a fan of Chardin
but I have an appreciation for
all still life works, in general
I admire, their ability
to add/capture
the ignored wonder, in our everyday..
and yes, the deeper we go into context
and an artist\'s, earthly reasons
for their chosen depictions
it makes it all murky and so far removed
from the magic, we wish it was..
so I simply choose to ignore
such trivialities, in my admiration
or our artistic geniuses..
(a great write, with wonderfully complex
threading of poetic rhyme and tempo ..
thanks for sharing)

CHIAROSCURO
L. B. Mek said:

(what an absolute privilege
it is to read your genius mind
entwining contradictions to dig deep
and excavate
to then unfurl
threading distinct, such complex
theories and insight\'s..
all I can do is thank you
humbly
for choosing to share your work with us
and for inspiring my feeble reply below..
I bow to your superior intellect, dear Poet)
we juxtapose, perspective
from our outset
like marvelling at Caravaggio\'s, brilliance
how, he seemingly clasped
light, itself
within his brushstrokes and willed it
to his very whim..
and yet
that baroque period, and context of his life
makes us feel, a little uneasy
at admiring his genius
because their is corruptive intent
at those root seeds of his artistry\'s
blossoming, legacy...
but
\'Luminous male Yang needs alter ego
Yin, his tenebrous female counterpart.\'
and thus our choices, too
are empowered by our ability:
\'To unmask the face of an artifice,
A breathing, inanimate entity,
Aspiring to an equilibrium.\'
affording us, the capacity
to admire, all art
removed from its
\'jigsaw of contradictions.\'
kinda like, our murky lives...!

THE OLD CAMELLIA HOUSE

Being an old gardener, having known many old gardeners, I can\'t count the numbers of once glorious greenhouses I\'ve seen fade away. What a wonderful way to capture that sentiment. Well said.

This piece is quite profound. I feel a deeper meaning with the words \"infirmary\" and \"patients.\" It might simply be an analogy of the dying flowers but it feels there might be a connection to humans as well. Nonetheless a great piece, is that you reciting it?
