Pretty Human?!

there are far too many self obsessed individuals these days who flock like sheep around the latest look, gizmo or gadget .. I truly fear for the future and wonder whether they will eventually develop sufficient insight and self awareness to see how stupid, if not pathetic they really are ..

Strewth, please forgive the rant but I couldn\'t help myself .. I enjoyed my visit here today and agree entirely with the view that beauty and aesthetics are both in the eye of the beholder and that both change over time .. whereas what makes us uniquely individual i.e our personality, mind and spirit often get more beautiful or attractive over time .. Anyway, here\'s me wishing you All Good Things .. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘

I believe in going along with the flow, not bring pressurized by outside influences. Taking time to find the answers to questions at a pace which suits. Then you can say, I truly did it my way. We are all on our own unique journey. Loved the read Cloie. You right so well.

An existential journey that at one time or another we all take. Nicely written. We need to listen to others and be sensitive but not necessarily believe or accept what other say.

I\'ve read a few of your poems dear Cloie and what screams very loudly out to me is that even though you are still so young, you are without doubt full of skill and knowledge to be a successful writer. I truly have no doubt apart from that, you seem to be extremely bright so what ever you choose as your career in life I suspect it would be full of passion. ๐ŸŒน

Veil of Sorrow
Bobby O said:

Iโ€™ve read it twice and see the โ€œwhyโ€ as the vehicle that conveys a condition of unending and at this point and unsolveable pain. No matter my urge to encourage , there in does not allow any question of veracity though one may debate each and all stated by you stands with a credence that stands within you , except for one line , where the safety and assuredness thst backs each line proclaimed , does not extend. And my smile of new hope that I can legitimately ask you to join is new hope and change can possibly be linked and blossom from a line that is conjecture. Just conjecture. Not rooted like every other lamenting phrase.
โ€œWhy am I screaming,
knowing none would heed my silent pleaโ€, Thatโ€™s the point we rescue you. Despite what Iโ€™m sure is a solid honest belief on your part I must point out to you, You do not know absolutely , that noone , that none would come to rescue. I. Profer that is where Hope lies. I certainly would come and Iโ€™m sure many others whoโ€™ve read and feeling entwined in your lament would break down Walls to come to help. There is no absolute of this NONE , here there is a hope, there, there is a place you can re-adjust one single thought and create yourself the blessing of one moment of hope that my darling may grow until itโ€™s all around and I feel that is what will happen. God bless you.

Focusing on the bad and painful only enhances it. This world is a balance made up of good and bad, weak and strong, pain and joy we only have the choice of what we focus on. A most heart wrenching write of pain and anguish.

There is without any doubt, a great sadness woven throughout this poem Cloie ..

I sincerely hope that it reflects your poetic creativity and is not in any way autobiographical ..

There is such sadness in your stanzas Cloie. I sense the lack of light in the darkness of your lines. Feeling abandoned is harrowing. You write so descriptively and with emotion. I hope your day today gives you some brightness.

There will be no stronger bond than what a mother and child will have. Even if the words sting. Because actions are louder than the words that we say.

Sounds like your mother has some deep-rooted issues and needs some serious attention to resolve those issues, but you silencing yourself would be a step in the wrong direction. Somewhere in your mother\'s past someone derailed her life, but it wasn\'t you Cloie. Consulting a specialist in how to best help her resolve her past would be the first step. Sorenbarrett said it best above, \"There are no bonds stronger than the love between mother and child.\"

Well Cloie, you\'ve just penned a poem of mine and I\'m certain many other lives. I grew up as you, not knowing what it was I wanted to do in life. All I did know was I wanted to work, but nothing really jumped out at me when I was younger. I think It had a lot to do with me never really knowing that I could do whatever I wanted to do. First of all, you\'re here on MPS doing a wonderful job of writing poetry. That, is one calling in your life that you have recognized and are a poet! As far as anything else you may want to do, think about the many different occupation that you see people doing all around you. If any of those appeal to you and you can see yourself doing it, then look into it further. While in my mid-forties I realized that I like big trucks and that I\'d like to drive them. I\'m retired now at 67, but I wish I\'d realized my dream sooner than I did. Good luck to you Cloie, I know you get it figured out soon. Believe in yourself! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘

Glimmers in the Dark
sorenbarrett said:

A great contrast is shown here. Light could be knowledge and dark ignorance, this is a masonic element where the east is equated with light and West with death while the north is the place of ignorance and yet from it knowledge comes. All things have their opposite. There is comfort in ignorance as the old saying goes Ignorance is bliss. But literally I too find comfort in the dark. Lovely
